reason im asking is amp only works on one channel and that is bridged to 1000w 4ohms

Keith - I assume this is for a professional sound or DJ system.

You cannot connect all 4 eight ohm speakers directly to that amp in bridged mode using the speakon connectors. Speakon connectors are set up for parallel connections normally. If you connected all four speakers to that amp, you would be down to two ohms which is too low.

My recommendation is to just run the amp in normal stereo mode. That way you can connect two speakers to one channel and two to the other channel. The amp should run fine that way.

There are 2 questions here. Are you saying the amp is faulty on one channel? Is it a 500w per side stereo amp. If it is you can happily run 2 speakers on each side. If you want mono, see if it has a mono switch or, see if your mixer can be switched to a mono output. If only one side is working then you can only run 2 speakers on the good side. Many people make the error of switching the amp to bridge mode but connecting speakers in the usual way i.e. pos and neg each side. In this case, only one gain pot will work giving the impression one side is faulty.

The first guys answer is a mistake. He says connect in parallel but he is describing a series way of connection. I don't think the volume level would make any difference as the amp only 'sees' an impedance not a gain level. Also it's easy to get this wiring wrong, I'll try to simplify his suggestion. If you only have one side working on your amp, take a cable from the pos, connect to the pos in on spkr 1, then connect a cable from the neg on spkr 1 and connect it to the pos on spkr 2. Finally connect the neg of spkr 2 back to the neg on the amp. You then have a 16ohm load on the amp. If you repeat this for the other two speakers you will be adding another 16 ohm load and this will reduce the load the amp sees to 8 ohms, ok for either just one side or for bridge mode if both sides are actually ok. The amp power will be shared equally between all 4 speakers.

I can only offer the truth about Ohms Law. 2 x 8 Ohm speakeWrs in Parallel is 4 Ohm Impedance.take those 2 spkrs as one channel L or R scheissegal. My Professional advice is to Use each 500 W in parallel with the 200 Watt, meaning 1 ea 500 W & 1 ea 200 per Channel then you have your 4 Ohm Impedance plus the Power handlingling capability you are searching for It really works, buy me an Ale one day..

you can try this but at low volumes. first take your 200w speakers and wire them parallel so you have a wire comming from the positive terminal of one speaker and a wire coming from the negative terminal on the other speaker.connect the two remaining terminals together. do the same for the other set of speakers. then connect the two positive wires toi the positive terminal on the amp. the negative to the negative. turn your amp all the way down and listen to the speakers.turn your amp up gradually until you hear distortion and stop. your amp may be 1000w but it's putting out 250w on four channels.

Metalman56 lined it exceptionally solid. in actuality without sub, you will no longer have a vehicle which will "shake with song and bass" . so which you pick for a sub. as for 3 way vs 4 way, it quite is a decision and additionally you need to hear them, its kinda like asking that's extra advantageous the purple vehicle or the blue one... in case you're quite after sound high quality, i'd propose getting a around speaker for the 4 considerable audio gadget. in the experience that your contemporary audio gadget are 6x9 there are adaptor plates attainable at a solid vehicle audio shop to extra healthful a 6 a million/2" around in that area. a 6x9 will supply extra bass yet sound worse than a 6 a million/2" however the shortcoming of bass is a non subject whilst further a sub, because of the fact the bass frequencies would be "decrease off" from the mains besides, and redirected to the sub. in case you pick for to initiate off sluggish i'd get a 4 channel amp, a sub and a couple of latest audio gadget up front, i recomend a area set with a seperate woofer and tweeter. with those aspects you will makes use of the deck to capability the rear production unit audio gadget, then 2 of the channels to capability the hot front audio gadget and the different 2 channels would bridge to capability the sub. this would supply complete frequency sound at a funds fee. in case you desperate to characteristic extra capability and extra volume, all aspects would nevertheless be usable, in simple terms purchase 2 new audio gadget for the lower back and capability all audio gadget with the 4 channel amp, then upload a clean mono amp for the sub. in case you circulate this course, in simple terms verify the sub can carry a good number of capability for a destiny improve. i'd inspect a 50x4 as much as a seventy 5 x 4 amp, and around a 4 hundred-six hundred watt sub. this would be a superb gadget without considerable electric powered gadget improvements.
