AUVIO earphones with mic on skype?

I bought these AUVIO "Pearl Buds with mic" from radio shack and before buying it, i asked "Can this be used for skype?" and the guy said "Yes" so I bought it. But as soon as i got home and plugged it in, its not registering for a mic OR as a output. That radio shack loser....I looked into the manual and it has this small button beside the mic, it says "Built-in mic enables you to recieve calls while listening to music with the push of a button". Before i thought it was a mute button. So assuming this is only for phones, I CAN'T USE IT FOR SKYPE Can this be used for skype or do i have to return it....THANK YOU!!

Return it. Shop for the replacement elsewhere.

I was able to use it on my PC with Skype no problem - on Windows XP. I just changed to Windows 7 and there is some problem with the driver I believe. The mic isn't working. I'm trying to find a solution.



Again, on Windows XP it worked no problem. However the headphones do need an adapter. They come with one jack and to plug it into the PC you need something that has two jacks - one for mic and one for headphones. Luckily I had an adapter from previous headset so this wasn't a problem. without the adapter these are just good for phones, laptops perhaps, etc.
