The ideal laminating temperature varies with the laminate thickness:

Thickness

(one side) Temp (F)

min/max

5 mil thick 225 / 240

7 mil thick 240 / 250

10 mil thick 250 / 260

After laminating, if the pouch adhesive is still cloudy, the laminating temperature is too low. If the material shows bubbles in the adhesive or a wavy irregular surface, the temperature is too high. In either case, adjust the heat setting and wait a few minutes for the equipment to reach the new temperature.

If you DO NOT have access to a lamination machine, please complete the following instructions:

Use the following items: a card, a laminating pouch, an iron and a cotton tee shirt.

Turn on and set the iron to cotton blends and let it warm up.

Place one completed card squarely inside one of the laminating sleeves.

Place the plastic laminating sleeve with the card inside, between the front and back of the cotton tee shirt.

Firmly and evenly, press the hot iron on the tee shirt over the entire area of the plastic sleeve for about 30 seconds.

DO NOT remove the card immediately, it will be hot. Let the card cool inside the tee shirt for about a minute before removing.
