I am building a electronic number plate. can anyone suggest me a bettwe LCD or LED display?

the resolution of real number plate is 520mm height and 11mm width. any display that can replace it. that can view to distance is fine. it should also support computer programming.

Hi the use of LCD currently is not going to acceptable a when sunlight is on the display it is swamped by ultraviolet and goes blank. so led display may be what might be used as it uses light emmiting diodes. however this too suffers from the sunlight being stronger than the display brightness only in the dark do these really work. shine a light at them and they go blank.

so this is why they are not currently used.

both are LCD type....LCD has thin fluroscent lamps on backlite...but LED has leds on backlite
