Quality and reliability.
You get what you pay for - to get another make with the same build quality, performance and reliability, you will be paying a similar (or greater) amount of money.
My two regular-use laptops cost far more than Apple laptops.
I have both Apple and (high-end) Android devices. Both systems have advantages and disadvantages; which I use depends on what I am trying to achieve.
(Present count six Apple devices and two Android devices; plus windows-based gear).
I do not rush out to buy new ones; I usually wait six months to a year after a new product is released, to give it time for any initial hardware/software bugs to be found and fixed and for the price to become more reasonable.
(And I would _not_ have an apple watch - they are stupid, less that a day battery life and a crazy price. I'll stick to Pebble..)
One of the _very_ big points against Android devices is lack of updates. Apple regularly release updates, including for old hardware going back many years.
I don't think either Android device had more than a couple of updates and none after a year or so.
