You may be misinterpreting the specification. When they write 160M to 6M the other ham bands in between are also included; i.e. the 80, 40, 30, 20, 17, 15, 12 and 10M bands.

Good luck and have fun. 73 from the Fisherman.

if you're extremely going to get your universal type license, bypass with a cellular jointly with the Icom IC706mk2g. The 706m2g covers all HF, 2m and 440MHz in a unmarried effectual sized container. i visit in no way advise a hand held as your first radio. A hand held is so proscribing! very nearly no longer conceivable to apply as a cellular radio. added: i have been a ARRL Registered instructor considering the fact that they began this technique. I tell all my scholars the same element. evaluate the favor. A hand held is effectual, that is often the first radio a sparkling ham buys and is the rationalization for max hams loosing interest in the interest. A hand held is made for use outdoors a motor vehicle, walking round, interior of decision of a repeater. once you get interior a motor vehicle, the motor vehicle is a large Faraday Cage, so now you want an exterior antenna. Batteries very last about 4 hours, so now you favor a means adapter. means adapter and antenna coax, starting up to get - cumbersome. So picking up the radio to communicate is a issue even as attempting to steer the motor vehicle, so that you get an exterior mic and speaker so that you'll be able to listen the micro sized inner speaker. somewhat quickly, the cabling is more suitable than the radio. playing radio quickly turns right into a chore and no longer interesting. A cellular is starting up to seem as if a extra proper theory, and could have fee about the same as a hand held with speaker and exterior mic. VHF and UHF is nice, yet at the moment, HF is continually the position to loiter round. my humble suggestion.... seek for a used IC706mk2g

Yes you are wrong.

A transceiver means transmit & receive.

Check the Yaesu Web Site.

yes, you are incorrect :)

the ban coverage is 160M to 6M.

1900kHz to 54MHz with gaps.

I like 17m as well as 6m, but with bad sunspots, 6m is dead and 17m is marginal.
