I got my green laser pointer acouole days ago and I wondering how to.save the battery on it. When Im not using it I lock where it wont turn on and I take the battery out. Would just locking it so it doesnt turn good enough to save the battery? Does that stop the power in it?

It only uses power when the laser is on. If you do not turn it on, it won't use any power. The lock is just so that it doesn't accidentally turn on when something bumps against the switch.

Taking the battery out won't help.

Batteries die over time whether you use them or not, so even if you lock the pointer in a safe, the battery will be dead in a few years.

Relax a bit. Batteries are cheap, and the laser pointer uses them very slowly.

Yes, that is about the most you can do. When the button is not pressed, or switch is off, the electrical circuit is considered open (no path for current to flow).

locking stops power flow completely

Locking it should be good enough.
