Question:
Who makes better Mics... Shure or Blue?

Shopping for some new podcasting mics. I was looking at a Shure SM7B ($350), or a Blue Baby Bottle ($400).

Or, I can save some cash and get either a Blue enCore 100 ($100) or a Shure SM58 ($100).

Also, which do you think is better, dynamic or condenser? I am inclined to say dynamic since they are less sensitive and have less bleed, which is better for my apartment recording environment.

Who, in your opinion makes the best mics? I see a lot of people use Shure mics. But, Blue makes great sounding (and looking) stuff too.

For a basic speaking voice only podcast, the SM58 will do just fine.

Have you considered a USB mic?? USB mics connect directly to the computer - no interface needed.

Shure and dynamic. Like you say, condensers can be way too sensitive and make background noise a big problem. Shures aren't the greatest high frequency, but that's an advantage if you're doing voice and don't want to pick up 8khz and above, which is where noise is the biggest problem.

Ouch! I have a Samson condenser mic (USB) that I paid less than $100 for and an AT condenser with phantom power that wasn't much more. Both a lotta mic's for less than $300.

im a shure guy myself. I do use different mic manufacturers, yet i imagine if i had to in basic words use one, it will be shure. You didnt quite say what they were for, besides the undeniable fact that the "marketplace favourite" (i continually sense like an agent of the guy affirming that) are the Shure SM-fifty 8 and SM-fifty seven. they say that the SM-fifty 8 is for vocals, and the fifty seven is for vocals (like giving speeches no longer making a song) and for device amplifiers. i for my section in basic words use fifty seven's. I have 58s, yet they in simple terms kinda lie round. also, theyre the very similar, with in basic words actual transformations. i have taken them aside and that i have also analyzed the frequency reaction, they use the very similar circuitry. the in basic words distinction is the suitable (is that the interest?) of the microphone. they're both one hundred money. Sennheiser makes large stuff too, yet has a tendency to be quite extra expensive. no longer too accustomed to electro voice. Audio technica is large, i in simple terms favor particular, and Nady makes some quite sturdy stuff, and some quite. quite. crappy stuff. also, shures are like bulletproof. i dont even placed them on cases, even at the same time as gigging or on excursion. i in simple terms stuff them in a backpack. i'm no longer joking. and clearly each body has heard memories of idiots throwing shures at walls to attempt the reliability, in basic words to verify that they quite didnt damage. theyre truly the nalgene bottles of microphones. to theguy who revealed above me, that doubleneck ric is frickin sweet.
