I'm making a tech project and I need a battery pack using 2 AA (1.5 volt) batteries and a 9 volt battery.

The other answers will work but the batteries running the load will only last as long as the lower amp/hr rating. Using 2 9vdc batteries in series = 18v then use 8 diodes in series to drop 5.6 v = 12.4v . The diodes voltage is constant at any amperage. They can also act as a fuse. ( use 1 amp diodes and any over-current will blow a diode. As the batteries voltage goes down , it will show on the load.

A nine volt battery may not have the current necessary to run a device that the AA batteries have. You need 6 volts not 9....

Put them in series together. 9V + 1.5V + 1.5V = 12V

First cell negative connects to next cell positive and so on.........
