When will we have Angelic Layer technology?

The technology featured in the anime of "Angelic Layer" allows for 'Angels' or a more modern term Robots to move around on a 'Layer' or for lack of a better word table (that allows the angels to move) by our own thoughts and do as we think them to do. You think and imagine for the doll to take a step and it does. My question to the world is how far from our own technology that we have today is this "Angelic Layer" Technology?

Also how far is the technology to just be able to control robot "Angels" with just say a remote control like in video games or otherwise.

I'm not familiar with the technology featured in the anime of "Angelic Layer"; however, I do know there is substantial progress in the fields of "consumer brain–computer interfaces", "augmented reality" and "embodied agents". It should soon be possible to represent embodied agents in the form of "dolls" or "angels" in augmented reality (also "mixed reality"). I suspect that the use of brain–computer interfaces (BCI), in games for instance, will soon follow.
