My dvd player wont play my dvds what is wrong with it?

i tried watching a movie on my DVD player but it says the disc is wrong so i cleaned the disc same thing put in a different disc same thing
what is wrong with my player and how can i fix it

There are any number of things that could be wrong with an electronics device. No one is going to be able to know without further investigation.



A new DVD player can be bought at a grocery store for $30 so it's probably not worth it to take it to a repairman. If it is new return it and if it is old just get a new one. As I mentioned they are pretty cheap these days.

There are different formats for DVD players. I have a DVD player/recorder that will NOT play certain types of disks. I had to go out and buy a cheap player to watch the last disk in a boxed set, simply because the original player would not go past the screen that said "the opinions expressed in this video are not necessarily the opinions of Paramount pictures...."



I looked over the instruction manual of the original DVDplayer, and it stated that not all disks would play in the DVD player due to formatting.

It depends where you are really. Some places it is legal, or the law doesn't look for multi-region DVD player vendors. Other places it is legal to only sell players made for their region. That all said, most of the lesser brand import players from China can easily have their region unlocked.

Did you buy the DVD locally? The world is divided into zones and DVD from one part of the world may not work in another.

is your dvd playter brand new?



because if it is... it may befaulty, take it back to where you got it from and get a new one...



OR if it has been working in the past, maybe its lazer has got dust on... try cleaning it...



if your dvd player has also been dropped or hit a couple of times it may also be broken...



try another disk as well maybe the disk has scractches on...

look on the DVD box and see if it is the right zone DVD players will only play certain zones
