my gift card balance in my amazon account disappeared?

i received an email today from amazon stating that the $10 promotional amount for pre-ordering brink was deposited into my account. I check my account and it says that it's 0 dollars when i had $13.77 in there yesterday leftover from when i bought my copy off amazon. What happened to my money? I checked my orders and there was nothing there, just brink. What the hell happened? :/

I had $50 today. Applied it, added a few more items going over the gift card amount, and the gift card went to zero... until resolved, not buying from Amazon!

The same thing just happened to me. =[ On May 2nd, I had $1.00 or so on my gift card balance, and then added another $5.00 gift card. However today, when I tried to order something, I did not have the sufficient funds needed because apparently by gift card balance is $0.00 even though it wasn't shown as being applied to ANY purchase of mine. I sent an email to amazon and hopefully this will all be figured out.

when you buy something on amazon you have for the item plus shipped or perhaps you signed up for amazon prime which membership cost
