All refrigeration systems will hiss somewhat when turned off or after the compressor has run. A refrigeration system works off of a pressure differential. High pressure gas on one side (High side) and low pressure liquid on the other (low side). When the compressor is turned off, the high pressure gas will equalize with the low pressure liquid. The migration happens through the restriction in the system called an orifice or expansion valve. Because there is a restriction, it makes a hissing noise. That would be normal...

Or a leak of the refrigerant. How is it working?

sounds such as you have a leak interior the tank flapper/drain section. Or in the adventure that your tank is previous college, its like a ball and rod. The hissing sound is water somewhat leaking from the shrink-off waft stem, because of the fact the waft isn't sufficiently raised to shrink the water bypass. learn the bowl edges and spot if there's a delicate circulate around the waterline, meaning the water is leaking from the aforementioned flapper/ball on the drain. replace the flapper and the improve chain if its metallic and verify returned. The leak must be silenced if the flapper seals the drain appropriate.

sounds like te Freon is leaking, cracked or a bad seal. It's what keeps the fridge cold. If you are short on cash and love your fridge and know someone in heating and cooling, they have a license to work with Freon.

Looks like you are losing the "gas" from you fridge.

By the sounds a very small leak.

Has it been damaged of late.

I would think of purchasing a new fridge.

Because the cost of repairs might exceed "new cost".

They hiss for about three days, then they blow up like bombs.

LIKE BOMBS!

Sorry, just kidding. Did you move it lately and tilt it? They hate being tilted, it can take them days to work again after that.

most likely a gas leak.

your fridge will no longer be able to keep foods cold. you should repair it immediately or buy a new one. and as an added precaution, don't leave it in a badly ventilated room.

It sounds like a leak.

Contact the service, could be a compressor problem and that will cost if not covered.

You could also try a defrost and then connect again.

Gas leak...cheaper to buy another fridge than try toget it repaired.
