I've heard good things about Sennheiser and I looked it up and on amazon they're $30 which seems too cheap, my questions.
1. is there a best model Sennheiser headphones?
2. any other suggestions?

Honestly may sound VERY simple, but apple earphones are actually good quality, however if you are looking into wanting good bass and an all round noise blocking earphone, then you may want the in-ear apple earbuds, or the new EarPods, released recently with all new ipods

the thing that is the biggest headphone killer is the jack, general use bends the jack and often breaks the connections needed to transmit the music through to your headphones, i honestly think that the mix of hard plastic and rubber on the apple jack is the best that i have seen

i recently got a pair of philips ones from a good friend for my birthday, though perfectly expensive for what they were, the jack was very weak, wrapped in a single sheet of rubber round the metal aux bit, one ear is now much much quieter than the other, and this is extremely irritating, that was just from everyday use and wear and tear, and i only ever use them in bed before i go to sleep!! as much as we dont like to admit it, us music lovers abuse and misuse our headphones, earphones etc, it has become very clear that the only headphones that can withstand this prolonged use is the Apple ones.

Hope this helps :)

Headphones are exceptional for anytime I wish to block out different sounds, precisely manage the quantity if i am making an attempt read and want the music just loud ample that i can nonetheless listen, if i don't need to disturb others or, if I want to keep my option of song exclusive. Headphones also allow you to hear one of the sounds you might pass over in any other case. However good speakers have a spatial richness and bass results that no headphones can in shape; you can not hear any real reflected sound through headphones (although some sound processors can add imitations) and listening to the bass best in you ears just isn't the same as feeling the room shake. I'd fail to see loads with the aid of limiting myself to either.

Sennheiser is the most affordable QUALITY brand indeed, though, as a rule of thumb, the higher the HD number, the better the sound quality is in general.

Other REPUTABLE brands include Shure, Grado, Denon, AKG, Etymotic, Bowers & Wilkins, Beyerdynamic and Audio-Technica, but those are more expensive.

This is one of their better models:

http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD800-Over-Ear-Circum-Aural-Headphone/dp/B001OTZ8DA/ref=sr_1_55?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1354494466&sr=1-55&keywords=sennheiser

Avoid anything by Beats just over hyped, over priced junk.
