The most commonly used video files inside AVI containers are XviD and DivX, (codecs which are part of the MPEG4 standard). DivX, and later XviD, have been the most popular formats for compressing DVD video to a smaller size file.

But not all AVI format is the same one and playable on your DVB S700, Try another video format which is playable on your DVB S700.

And make sure your DVB S700 support the DVD disc you burned.

Hope this may help you

Avi is a media container format which can be encoded with many different codecs, such as divx, xvid, mpeg4, mjpeg, etc, so no dvd player can play all avi files, and I think your dvd player can't recognize MPEG4 avi file, I don't know the exact brand and model of your dvd player, so can't give your the exact answer, but if a dvd player can play some avi files, usually can play divx or xvid avi files well, one of them should be right for your dvd player, so you can follow me to use RZ DVD Creator to help you, it can directly convert any video files to Divx or Xvid avi files, such as convert your MKV video files to Divx or Xvid avi files to play well on your DVD player, easy to use, run RZ DVD Creator, directly drag and drop your MKV video files into RZ DVD Creator, then select "divx-dvd" or "xvid-dvd" as target format, at last press START button, the software will convert your MKV video files to divx or xvid avi files, then you can play the converted avi files well on your DVD player. You can yahoo or google search and download RZ DVD Creator, easy to use, hope it can help you.

DVD format is VOB, you have to convert your video to DVD compatible video at first, otherwise regular DVD player can not read and play it. If you don't know how to burn a playable DVD, I think this DVD Creator would help you a lot. I always use it to convert and burn movie to DVD to play on my home TV, it's easy to use and works pretty well, if you are interested in it, here is a step by step guide about how to use it.

avi is a media container which can be encoded with many different video and audio codecs, your mitashi dvd player only support divx codec avi files, don't support other codec avi files, so I think you converted avi file isn't right divx avi file, so can't play it on your mitashi dvd player. Convert any video files to divx avi files, you can try RZ DVD Creator, it can easy convert any video files to divx avi files or standard video DVD, and can directly burn to any DVD disc(DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-R DL, DVD+R DL, etc), such as convert any filv files to divx avi fles, and burn to any dvd disc, and then you can play the divx avi files on your mitashi dvd player. You can yahoo or google search RZ DVD Creator and download it, easy to use, hope it can help you.
