I am looking to buy my first ereader and have decided the Kindle is the model I want to go with. I am now debating between the Kindle or the Kindle Touch. I would only use this for the sole purpose of reading so the extra features don't matter to me. The original Kindle holds 1,400 books and the Touch holds 3,000. However, I wouldn't even store 1,400 so that is not a concern. The Kindle is $80 while the Kindle Touch is $100. The only difference in features that matters to me is the touch screen. I'm just curious as to whether or not the touch screen is worth the extra $20. I've heard the Kindle without the touch screen can be a little tedious to navigate, but if this isn't the case then I would rather use the extra $20 and buy a case.

If you can spare $139, I would suggest the new Nook Simple Touch with Glowlight.

This ereader was just announced yesterday, and it has something no other ereader had until now - the ability to read in the dark.

Ask anyone who has an ereader what's their biggest gripe is - they'll always say it's the not-able-to-read-in-the-dark-thing. Well, now you can.

well i personally have the touch (fire version) while my sis has the regular kindle i have found that 1. i have to younger bro and sis and the touch has survived but the kindle died from a blow from the knee 2. we both seemed to have problems with wifi but that was fixed with the kindle people who are quick to tell u exactly whats wrong and if ur looking for a key board i would go with the touch my sis doesnt and shes hates the fact that it takes awaile to go around the keyboard with just these four buttons instead of a whole keyboard so personally kindle fire u would be hooked in a day. my mum bought it for me and im the one trying to steal it back from her! lol hope this helps!

Just get the regular Kindle. I've used my sister's and she has a crapton of books on her's...I don't see how people found it hard to navigate.
