I'm trying to hook up my DVD player to my TV using AV cables. Sound is working fine but there is no picture. I was swapping around the cables and the closest I got to a picture was a black and white blurry image but besides that the screen remains blank
Can anyone help me with this?

yeah they do they sometime especially with el cheapo dvd players.its most likely your video jack(yellow)is burnt out.its happens in tvs,dvd players, and av boxes.try the 2nd pair of av jacks on tv if available or try dvd player on different tv to weed out your problem!!

I have done this before, hooking up a dvd player in a dark space, the AV cables may be mixed up. Check that it is white/white, red/red, and yellow/yellow. If that doesn't work make a note of what input you are on. DVD players rarely use channel 3 or 4 it is usually input 1, 2, 3, etc. This will be labeled on the TV where the jacks are located. You can sometimes just channel down below 1 to get to your inputs or you may have to change video inputs on the remote or front panel of the TV. DVDs are pretty simple machines so unless you picked it up at a garage sale, its old or you paid less than $20.00 for it, it is probably fine. If all this doesn't work try it on a different TV with the same cables, if it works on a different TV you know its fine, if it doesn't then try a different set of cables, if it still doesn't work you can bet the DVD is bad.

What output techniques do you have on the DVD participant? What enter techniques do you have on the television? Your AV connections must be undesirable. are you able to attempt the s-video connection for the image as a replace? is additionally you're actually not choosing the spectacular enter on the television. ought to could track to channel 3 or 4. Or their must be a video a million, 2, 3, or 4 enter to apply. i actual propose utilising the main suitable connection obtainable... a million) HDMI 2) ingredient Video 3) S-video 4) A/V (composite) 5) Coaxial Cable

Sounds like you are connecting the composite video cable (the yellow one) to a component video port or vice versa.
Make sure you are connecting the yellow video cable to the composite video-out port of your dvd player, and to the composite video-in port of your TV. Both ports should be yellow on the TV and the DVD player. If they are red, green or blue, you're doing it wrong.

-Make sure that the yellow, red and white cords are fitted in
completely and perfectly and are
in the right slots(white cord=White slot...etc)
-Make sure you have the right channel-Most TVs have it on AV or
video channels
-It could be a problem with your DVD player or TV-Not Compatible?
-Have you tested it on another TV...

make sure you have the tv on 3 or 4 channel to work, or use your remote
