I understand that most Android apps are not made for tablets, and that's why iPads are always at the top of lists when it comes to the best tablets. However, it's a different story on an Android phone. Before, Android apps are limited and some lack professional apps. But today, there are a diverse range of apps, whether designed for professional use, or for kids use. The good thing about iPhones are the professional apps. But I think Android apps can match those on iOS. I'm still not sure about it, so can Android apps stack up against iOS apps?

In terms of performance, stability, and responsiveness, Android apps still don't stack up well against iOS apps. Android 4.0 made a good step forward by introducing a unified API, but there are far too many Android hardware configurations to properly optimize Java code for. Apple has done well, despite whatever flak they've had over the years, in this area, and it does appear that the platform will begin to open up just a little bit with recent announcements from Apple about iOS 8.

Of course they can. There is just about an equivalent if not the same apps available for Android as there is for iOS. Just depends on the apps your referring to. What "professional" apps are you talking about that you feel Android is inferior to?

android is fragmented, what runs on one may not run well on another. Just the opposite on iphone, all apps run great on all iphones. The A7 chip is only on iphones also, and iphone 5S is the only 64bit phone on the market.

android is somewhat inferior , there is more pure power however it is impossible for app developers to optimize their applications for every device, whereas there is only one iphone per year - so it is much easier for optimisation . i have a galaxy note 3 and i love it, however to play games and use apps i still play and use on my iphone 5s because they are just better and smoother , i browse the web on the note 3 as it has a bigger screen ,
