How can you hook a RCA DVD Burner to Dish DVR?

I have a RCA DVD/VCR burner that I want to hook to my Dish DVR. I also want to hook up an additional DVD player. I want to be able to watch DVD's, burn movies from the Dish network, and burn DVD's fro the VCR and DVD player.
Anyone have step by step directions on how to make this work?

If what you have is an RCA DVD recorder, then connect the DVR video and audio outputs the the DVD recorder inputs. Then the TV to the outputs of the RCA DVD recorder. Start to play the DVR and Record on the RCA to record off of the DVR. To connect another DVD player, that might be better connected to another input to the TV. If you have an AV receiver, then all of your sources can connect to that unit to route signals.



If you only have one audio/video input on your TV, then you need a switch box. Radio Shack has them. Ask for AV switch box. One input to the box is the DVD player, the other input to the box is the RCA DVD recorder. The output of the box goes to the TV.



If you are planing to record from the DVD player to the DVD recorder, this wiring set up won't work. Also, recording DVDs this way likely will be usless due to the copy protection.
