You need a tuner/capture card. A Tuner card will be easier for SD, as it will integrate with DVR packages well. For HD, a hauppauge HD-PVR.

Another option may be a VGA TV tuner box.

The connections on your graphics card are all outputs.

There are many reasons to connect your satellite receiver directly to your PC, a primary one being to record television shows, movies and other programs onto your hard drive. Saving movies and programs you watch only occasionally to hard drive also can save space on your DVR.

Locate the RCA "Audio/Video Output" ports on the back of your satellite receiver--three round ports, color-coded yellow, red and white. Insert one end of your RCA audio/video cables into these ports, making sure to respect the color-coding.

Insert the other ends of the wires into the "Analog In" ports on your Canopus box, again paying attention to the color-coding.

Insert one end of your Firewire into the "Digital I/O" port of the Canopus box. Plug the other end into the Firewire or 1394 port on your computer.

Set the Canopus box to "Analog In," so it will receive a signal from the satellite box and send it to your PC.

I have a all in wonder ALL-IN-WONDER X800 XL 256 MB It's a display card and TV card. I also have a TV Wonder 650. Its High Def Recorder from your outside air. You can play back thur your high def tv thur the all in wonder. You can hook up your Sat reciever to the PC with a S-Video cable. You can record to the pc with this hook up. If I did it again I would hav got the card with 512 mb. But mine works pretty good. Hope this helps you.
